A donation in honor of Sgt Andrew Cote Nicol
My company, Exeter Events and Tents, is approached by organizations throughout New England on a daily basis for donations. All are deserving and we try to help as many organizations as possible because in the current economic conditions, there are so many. We found out about a special need from a good friend of mine, Kevin Sullivan, this past Friday. I was saddened to hear that Sgt. Andrew Cote Nicol a former Exeter high school standout had given his life for our freedom on the battlefields of Afghanistan. Kevin told me the family was overwhelmed by this tragedy and needed to hold the memorial service outside at their modest home; I knew I had to help. Before I could contact the family, the father called my office and reserved a tent for the service. I immediately called back and spoke with a woman telling her it would be an honor to donate the tent and that heroes and their families do not pay here.
Sgt Andrew Cote Nicol at 23 years old gave his life for our freedom, he will be buried tomorrow. God bless Andrew, his family and a country that inspires those men and women to stand up with pride, protect and if necessary offer the supreme sacrifice on the altar of freedom. It is one of these warrior heroes that we honor tomorrow for he realized more than any of us that it takes duty, honor and courage to protect that most precious of all American gifts… the fragile gift of our freedom. Sgt Andrew Cote Nicol was many things; one of them was Army Airborne. So may I send you home to your fellow brothers in arms with a motto from one of those great divisions the 101. Curahee! For those who do not know it is a Cherokee term that means stand-alone. Read the rest of this entry »
Thanks from The Granite State Quest
Dear Ashley,
Two weeks ago, over 100 riders took to the roads of southern New Hampshire to participate in the 8th annual Granite State Quest – A ride to conquer cancer. I am pleased to report that it was a wonder and successful day. You may recall that July 10th was during one of those hot spells, not to be confused with the hot weather of the past few days. In addition to the heat, there were some pretty good rain storms throughout the day. Thanks to Exeter Rent – All with its generous donation of 3 tents the riders were able to find shade or get out of the rain when they circled back to Timberland after each of the 3 loops they rode throughout the seacoast. Without the tents, our post ride barbeque for riders, volunteers, friends and family would not have been as enjoyable, as the rain returned on a few occasions during the celebration.
Exeter Rent- All has been a wonderful supporter every year and thanks to your in kind donation and that of other local business, we are thankful and proud that 100% of the funds raised by the riders go directly to pediatric cancer research and patient care at The Massachusetts General Hospital. Our fund raising efforts thus far have totaled $75,137 and we are hopeful to reach $100,000 which will result in an eight year total of over three quarters of a million dollars.
Thanks again and please extend our appreciation to the entire Exeter Rent-All team.

Top Tips: Hiring a DJ
We asked some experts what planners need to know when hiring a DJ for their event.
Here’s what they had to say:
From Katherine McCommon, regional director, Soundsource Entertainment:
• Ask for references from past clients who hosted the same type of event you are planning.
• Never pay for set-up or teardown when booking a professional. These services should be included with any entertainment package. Also, your DJ should not include set-up time in your overall time reservation. Read the rest of this entry »
Par for the cure!
Summertime brings many wonderful clients to us needing to rent tents, table, chairs, stages, dance floors, inflatable bounce houses and much, much more. We are blessed to have such a loyal clientele that supply us with strong referrals and helped to build our trusted name. This allows us to be able to give back to the community and the local non-profits. We showcase two June events we’re involved with, one that just happened and one that happens June 19th. The event on the 19th is still looking for golfers and is probably the best time you could have on a golf course. Check it out! With tournaments located at a New Hampshire Course and a Massachusetts course there is even a choice of venue if you like. Click on the video to review the entire event or the event website.
Paws Walk, A Major Success
The grounds at Stratham Hill Park were buzzing Sunday when an estimated 2,000 people gathered with dogs of all shapes and sizes for the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ 18th annual Paws Walk event.
A steady drizzle didn’t stop pet lovers from around the Seacoast from securing pledges for a fundraising event that organizers said aimed at raising upward of $100,000 for the locally based New Hampshire SPCA. We were happy to have our tent there to help keep everyone as dry as possible. If you couldn’t make it this year mark your calendar for next year or get involved this year by volunteering, here is why
- Every animal deserves a warm safe loving home.
- When an animal is homeless, they turn to us.
- The NHSPCA cares for nearly 3,000 unwanted pets each year. Their food, comfort, and shelter is possible thanks to gifts from caring people.
- When an animal is the victim of cruelty or neglect they can rely on the NHSPCA to help them heal and start over.
- Most importantly, the animals need you so they can have a second chance at life.

Exeter Events and Tents donates two 30×45 Tents to the Daniel Webster Council for the Boy Scouts
I was a boy scout as a young man in the state of Rhode Island. I have never forgotten how important being a scout was to my community and own personal development. Memories of scouting events never fail to make me smile. I can identify as I conduct my actions in life today is in some ways reflective of what I learned as a boy scout. The Boy Scouts of America are one of those associations that that help to build character, and good life habits at a young age. So I am always happy when I can contribute and give something back to the organization and support my community at the same time. Read the rest of this entry »
